The Crossing
A jacket's oldest question is where the two fronts meet. Study 04 answers on the diagonal — and lets the seam do the arguing.
Tailoring's first question is the closure: where the left front meets the right. Study 04 refuses the centre. The fronts cross low and off-axis, one side pale, the other ink, so the join reads as a diagonal drawn across the chest rather than a button stand hidden down the middle.
Most jackets hide the join. This one draws it.
Where they overlap, the cloth is worked into a dense ruche, the only texture in the study, sitting exactly where the eye already goes. Two weights meeting at a single edge is a harder join than paper admits. Nothing else on the jacket asks for attention. The rest is line.
